Frequently Asked Questions
Why was the organization started?
We wish to help older adults stay in their homes as long as possible as they age.
Can anyone join A Community Together?
Anyone who is Medicare or Medicaid eligible can join. People living together in the same household can join as a family. People interested in helping older adults can join as Associate Members and corporations can join as corporate members.
Are all the services free?
Not all services are free. For example, if you need a plumber there is a list of preferred vendors whose services are paid for by the member needing the plumber. If you need a ride or have someone change the batteries in your smoke alarm one of our Volunteers can help and that is a free service with membership.
Can I have same day services?
No. All services must be requested a least 24 hours ahead of time so we can schedule a volunteer to assist you.
Why do we have to pay to join?
Dues help cover part of the cost of running the organization, but we also depend on grants and donations.
Are my membership dues tax-deductible?
No. Only donations are tax-deductible.
